This design features a powerful, symmetrical composition that pulls you into a world of psychedelic bluegrass. A central guitar forms the glowing doorway to a brick pyramid, emitting lightning bolts that transform into a hypnotic pink and navy vortex in the sky. Flanked by ornate, skull-marked moths and stoic stag guardians, the scene is set in a dense forest of firs under a light rain. Look closely at the forest floor, where a procession of whimsical beetles, each bearing a racing number, marches toward the light, led by a tiny silhouette of a traveler. The artwork is rendered in a vibrant, high-contrast palette with a distinct, hand-pulled screen print aesthetic, featuring bold outlines and textured halftone-dot shading for a vintage, tactile feel.
Printed on high-quality, heavy matte poster stock, this 18x24 inch print is perfect for framing and displaying in your music room, office, or living space. It's a fantastic gift for any Billy Strings fanatic, a memento of an unforgettable night, and a unique piece of wall art that celebrates the newgrass revolution.
Note from the Artist:
When I set out to design this piece, I wanted to capture the duality at the heart of Billy's music: the deep-rooted, earthy tradition of bluegrass and the expansive, psychedelic journeys he takes us on. I imagined the music as a sacred place, a temple, which became the brick pyramid with the guitar as its glowing entrance. The symmetrical layout and the guardian creatures—the mystical moths and the noble stags—give it a reverent, almost occult feeling. But to keep it from being too serious, I added the little beetles with racing numbers, a whimsical nod to the fun and playful energy of the fan community. It’s all about that pilgrimage to the sound, represented by the tiny figure walking into the light of the guitar.
