This design feels like a lakeside wayfinding relic—an elegant totem with compass roses, feathered wings, and perched birds rising out of prairie grass with a soft, ghosted skyline in the distance. The muted lake-jade and weathered steel tones keep it calm and iconic, giving it that modern concert-merch look with a subtle, symbolic edge.

Printed on Comfort Colors® garment-dyed tees, it’s soft with that broken-in feel from the first wear, made with substantial heavyweight cotton that drapes comfortably and wears beautifully over time. The garment-dyed wash adds depth and a gently vintage character that complements the clean linework and understated palette.

Discover the "Northerly Island Totem," a captivating fan-made design commemorating Goose's performance at the Huntington Bank Pavilion in Chicago on September 20, 2025. This striking vertical composition draws inspiration from the unique blend of nature and urban landscape, featuring a symbolic wayfinding obelisk infused with Goose iconography.

This unique design captures the spirit of exploration and connection, with elements like prairie grass, feathered pillars, multiple compass roses, and subtle nods to the iconic Chicago skyline. The serene lake jade, weathered steel grey, and crisp ice blue palette evokes a mystical and purposeful atmosphere, making it a perfect piece for any Goose fan or art collector.

Note From the Artist:
This design, "Northerly Island Totem," was born from a vision of a guiding monument emerging from the tranquil edge of Lake Michigan, a beacon for a special night with Goose. My aim was to create something that felt both ancient and modern, a ritualistic sculpture that speaks to navigation, discovery, and the profound connection between nature and the urban pulse of Chicago.

At its heart, the design is a vertical journey. From the prairie grasses forming its base, leading into a sound-tower silhouette that transforms into a majestic feathered pillar, every element is imbued with symbolic meaning. You'll notice the stylized wings unfurling and the multiple compass roses, serving as wayfinders – not just for physical direction, but for a unique auditory experience. The tiny geese perched along the structure, with one taking flight, represent a spirit of uplift and freedom, breaking past boundaries just as music transcends the everyday. The name "Goose" is subtly carved with feather-barb terminals, a nod to organic forms within an engineered structure.

I wanted to integrate the city and venue in a subtle, organic way. The Chicago skyline is rendered as a ghosted, almost seismographic hum in the background, ensuring the totem remains the focal point. The specific map inset of Northerly Island anchors the piece geographically without being overt, while abstract star glyphs within the pillar offer a fresh take on local symbolism. The textures themselves tell a story – stippling evokes the steel and concrete of the pavilion, while wispy strokes capture the island's natural grasses. This blend creates an aesthetic that is both engineered and deeply organic, a nod to both the band's themes and Chicago's unique blend of architecture and natural beauty.

The color palette – a serene lake jade and weathered steel grey, deepened by hints of dusk violet and punctuated by crisp ice blue highlights – contributes to the design's centered, purposeful, and slightly mystical atmosphere. It’s a visual guidepost, inviting you to arrive, ascend, and immerse yourself in the moment where water, wind, and incredible music converge.
