For this print, my vision was to capture the profound magic that unfolds when live music meets a starlit night, imbued with the unique essence of Virginia. The central concept, which I call 'Firefly Parabola,' transforms the Allianz Amphitheater into a living constellation engine. As the audience gathers, their collective energy is imagined as myriad fireflies, rising from the concentric rings of seating—each ring a subtle nod to a vinyl record groove.
These tiny specks of light ascend, their golden trails spiraling upwards to coalesce into a magnificent, luminous bird form – a celestial goose taking flight. This ethereal flock, born from the energy of the crowd, sweeps across the face of a vast, pale moon, an ultimate expression of audience connection and joyful ascent.
I drew inspiration from the serene beauty of Virginia nights, integrating drifting dogwood petals and the subtle reflection of the James River at the horizon to ground this cosmic spectacle in its Richmond setting.
