When I set out to create this poster for the Johnny Blue Skies show in San Diego, I wanted to capture the city's unique heat and the band's electric energy. The phrase 'San Diego Sizzle Sauce' popped into my head, and the whole concept clicked into place. I imagined this poster as a vintage product label from a bygone era, with a charming mascot. A grinning, well-dressed skeleton felt like the perfect pitchman—timeless, a little mischievous, and full of personality. The crossed chili peppers are a nod to the 'sizzle' in the music, creating a design that's part rock memorabilia, part classic Americana, and all fun.
