When I set out to create this piece for the Johnny Blue Skies show in Chicago, I wanted to capture a sense of timeless musical mythology. I imagined the music as a powerful force, rippling out from a central icon. That's why the guitar headstock became this monumental, heraldic crest at the heart of the design. The snake coiled around it represents a sort of friendly, mystical energy—a spirit guide on a sonic journey. The tiny ship sailing on the ripples below symbolizes the odyssey we all take with our favorite music. I grounded this magical scene with the familiar Chicago skyline, placing this universal feeling in a specific, beloved place.
