Note from the Artist:
As a huge fan of The Red Clay Strays, I wanted to create something that felt as authentic and rooted as their music. For their Charleston show, the image of a Lowcountry oyster roast instantly came to mind. It’s a communal, gritty, and deeply Southern tradition that feels connected to the band's sound. I filled the scene with details that tell a story: the old truck, the shared thermos, the tireless shuckers working the pile. Even the little crab with the shucking knife adds a touch of deadpan humor. My goal was to capture not just a concert, but a whole atmosphere—the smell of the salt marsh, the warmth of the fire, and the soulful sound of the band playing in the distance, represented by the stadium glowing on the horizon. This piece is my tribute to a specific time and place, and to the music that inspired it.
