Note from the Artist:
When I set out to create this piece, I wanted to capture the very essence of The Red Clay Strays' name and sound. I started with the most literal and foundational idea: a pair of honest, standard work pants, caked in the red clay they're named for. To me, this represents their grounded, soulful, hardworking roots. But their music isn't just about the dirt; it's about the magic that grows from it. That's where the psychedelic plume comes in—this vibrant, swirling burst of energy and color is the soul, the funk, and the rock and roll that erupts from their foundation. The little snake is a nod to that classic rock and roll swagger and the Southern tales often woven into their songs. I wanted the whole thing to feel like a dusty, sun-baked, slightly surreal vision from a Fort Worth evening.
