When I set out to create a piece for The Red Clay Strays' West Valley City show, I didn't want to just make another concert poster. I wanted to create a monument. I was struck by the idea of taking the most fundamental tool of a singer—the microphone—and treating it with the reverence of a towering statue. I imagined it standing alone in a vast parking lot, weathered by countless shows, a silent testament to the stories told and songs sung. The setting in the high desert of Utah, with the mountains in the distance, felt perfect for the band's sprawling, soulful sound. It's a tribute to the grind, the road, and the powerful, honest voice that cuts through the noise.
